DOORS 9.2 Licenses Change and Bug

Avid readers of this forum know that I asked a question about license usage a few weeks back. In my quest to figure out how to resolve this issue, I came across the law of unintended consequences.

In DOORS 9.2, the license server works differently. It used to be that I could run 100 instances of DOORS on my machine and be logged in as myself and because it was just me on my one machine, I would take 1 license. Well, it seems that a 3rd-party app was taking advantage of this loophole to do something and IBM saw this as a problem. Instead of taking it up with the developer, they changed flexlm so that if I do the behavior described above, I take 100 licenses.

Ever had the issue of DOORS not appearing in the Windows task bar? Turns out my users have, and they're starting another instance of DOORS, thus taking another license. This is a major problem for us because we are constantly hitting our license limit. Seems rather unfair, doesn't it?

With that in mind, I just submitted a bug report. I am posting it here to put some pressure on them--turns out that mixing this new policy with a bug in DOORS is a recipe for depriving customers of their licenses. But I'm also posting it so you all are aware of this issue.

So, i don't go to 9.2 !
